Jozi runners are invited to join the Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series Team at a fun ‘City Clean Up’ at the Absa Towers West on Saturday, 23 September 2023 in the build up to SA’s largest Heritage Day Celebration, the 6th annual Absa RUN YOUR CITY JOBURG 10K.

"We're thrilled to wrap up the 2023 Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series on National Heritage Day with the 6th annual Absa RUN YOUR CITY JOBURG 10K," says Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports and Founder of the Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series. "As part of our preparations, we take pride in contributing to the cleanliness of our host city by organizing an engaging 'City Clean Up.' Jozi residents will have the chance to actively participate in keeping their beautiful city clean while enjoying the morning with fellow residents, runners, and dedicated supporters of the Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series."

“The ‘City Clean Up’ is a great way to get the community involved, while building excitement for the upcoming race,” continues Meyer. “We would like to invite all residents to join in on the fun. Starting at the Absa Towers West at 08:30 on Saturday 23 September, all participants will receive refuse bags and gloves on arrival. Once completed we urge you to stick around, the first 200 participants can enjoy a light snack with us compliments of Absa. The City of Johannesburg will arrange for the collection of the filled bags post Clean Up. If you have not yet done so, enter the 2023 Absa RUN YOUR CITY JOBURG 10K, that way you can enjoy running through the streets of Jozi, which you helped to clean. We can’t wait to #RunYourCity with you.”

“The Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series is more than just a race, it is a commitment of our people to making a positive impact in the communities that we serve,” says Absa’s Group Chief Marketing and Corporate Affairs Officer, Sydney Mbhele. “Everyone is invited to join us as we gather to clean up the streets and sidewalks of Jozi before race day.
