The Comrades Marathon Association’s (CMA) annual roadshow kicks off at Comrades House in Scottsville, Pietermaritzburg tomorrow evening (Tuesday, 6 February 2024 at 19h00).
With Comrades training season upon us, the Comrades roadshow will be travelling to four strategic locations in a bid to motivate and empower its 22,500 entrants to be adequately prepared for The Ultimate Human Race on Sunday, 9 June 2024.
The Comrades roadshows will be hosted by local running clubs in Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape over the coming weeks. Comrades Coach, Lindsey Parry has urged runners to attend the session and be part of that select group who will receive first-hand advice on training, nutrition, injury prevention and tapering among other relevant topics.
The Comrades roadshows will also include short motivational talks by local running legends as part of the Comrades’ Local Legends campaign for 2024. The line-up includes:
Pietermaritzburg: Pat Freeman – 31 Comrades Marathon finishes
Johannesburg: Vic Boston – 45 Comrades Marathon finishes
Cape Town: Wietsche van der Westhuizen – 44 Comrades Marathon finishes
Pretoria: Charne Bosman – 2016 Comrades Marathon winner
