Nearly 100,000 supporters, spectators and runners are expected to converge on the Comrades Marathon finish venue at the HollywoodBets Scottsville Racecourse over the course of Comrades race day on Sunday, 9 June 2024.
In a bid to ease traffic congestion, the Comrades Marathon Association (CMA) has made provisions for supporter parking at the following venues:
Collegians Club – accessible from the Ortmann Rd offramp (N3 - Northbound);
Longmarket Girls School - accessible from the Ortmann Rd offramp (N3 - Northbound);
Woodburn Rugby Stadium - accessible from the Ortmann Rd offramp (N3 - Northbound);
Scottsville Primary School – accessible from Alan Paton Ave offramp (N3 – Northbound), entrance off Milborrow Rd; and
Bus Parking at St Charles College – accessible from New England Rd offramp (N3 – Northbound / Southbound), entrance from Harwin Rd.
CMA Race & Operations Manager, Ann Ashworth says, “All spectators and supporters are encouraged to make use of the alternative access routes and parking areas in order to avoid race-related road closures and limit traffic congestion in the Scottsville Area. A map with directions to each parking area has been included in the official souvenir magazine. We look forward to welcoming you to the finish venue on Sunday, 9 June.”
The 97h Comrades Marathon will be the 49th Up Run on Sunday, 9 June 2024, starting at the Durban City Hall at 05h30 and ending 12 hours later at the Hollywoodbets Scottsville Racecourse in Pietermaritzburg, covering an 85.91km distance.
