Olympic 200m champion Letsile Tebogo is set to continue his 100m Wanda Diamond League campaign with his debut appearance in Doha on May 16.

After opening his season in Xiamen and Suzhou, the Botswanan sprint star will look to strengthen his bid for a first-ever Diamond Trophy at the third meeting of the year.

"I'm excited to race in Doha—my first time competing there," Tebogo said. "The field will be highly competitive, and I’m eager to see how I perform. Last year was challenging both emotionally and physically, but I’m more experienced, mature, and ready to make every moment count."

Tebogo cemented his status as one of the world’s top sprinters in 2024, winning Olympic gold in the 200m and securing five Diamond League victories. However, he narrowly missed out on the series title after a surprise defeat to US rival Kenny Bednarek in the Brussels final.

With his focus now on the 100m, Tebogo is determined to set the record straight and start his Diamond League points tally strong in China and Qatar.

The Wanda Diamond League remains the premier global athletics series, featuring 15 of the most prestigious one-day events. Athletes compete in 14 meetings to qualify for the grand finale in Zurich, set for August 27-28, 2025.
