Runners and walkers participating in the Totalsports Women’s Race (5km or 10km) in Johannesburg on Saturday, 17 August 2024 will be treated to an incredible live performance by South African singer and songwriter, Nkosazana Daughter.

“As an artist dedicated to empowering women, it means a lot to me that the organisers have invited me to entertain runners, walkers, and supporters at the Totalsports Women’s Race in Johannesburg,” says Nkosozana Daughter. “As a woman, I understand the challenges women face in fighting for their place in any industry and constantly having to "prove" they are equally deserving of certain spaces. It’s an honor for me to be a part of this initiative. As an artist dedicated to inspiring women to be empowered, I’m humbled that the event organizers chose me to be part of such a meaningful event. It’s a privilege to entertain participants who share my beliefs in women’s empowerment.”

In closing she adds: “I’m thrilled to be part of this event, as its purpose aligns closely with my beliefs. Runners, walkers, and spectators can look forward to a high-energy and fun performance designed to loosen those racing muscles.”
