Solomons Urges Chiefs to Follow the Winning Ways of Downs, Bucs, and Stellies

After securing the Nedbank Cup with a thrilling 2-1 victory over Orlando Pirates at Moses Mabhida Stadium, Kaizer Chiefs defender Dillan Solomons expressed excitement about the team’s upcoming campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup. Their triumph ended a decade-long trophy drought and granted them a spot in continental competition next season.


Inspired by the recent success of South African clubs, including Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns, and Stellenbosch, Solomons emphasized Chiefs’ ambition to make their mark in Africa. While acknowledging that it’s not the Champions League, he highlighted the opportunity to showcase their brand on a bigger stage and chase further silverware.


Reflecting on the hard-fought victory, Solomons admitted they would have loved to bring home the trophy earlier, particularly for their revered chairman, Kaizer Motaung.

Reflecting on their hard-fought victory, he credited their hunger and resilience, emphasizing their desire to win had been greater than their rivals'.
