Toyota South Africa is the official vehicle sponsor for the 2025 Comrades Marathon
Renewed sponsorship marks a 21-year partnership milestone
The Comrades Marathon Association (CMA) is pleased to announce the renewal of its long-standing partnership with Toyota South Africa, for a 3-year period. This collaboration continues to unite two iconic brands, both synonymous with endurance, innovation, and excellence.
As the official vehicle sponsor, Toyota has been an integral part of the Comrades Marathon journey since 2004, providing unwavering support to runners, organisers, and the broader community. This renewed partnership reaffirms Toyota’s commitment to promoting South African sport, and the spirit of camaraderie that defines the world’s oldest, biggest, and most prestigious ultramarathon.
Toyota South Africa’s General Manager: Marketing Communications, Tasneem Lorgat, shared their enthusiasm: “The Comrades Marathon embodies the values we hold dear - perseverance, determination, and community. We are proud to renew our sponsorship and play a role in this extraordinary event that brings people together and celebrates the human spirit.”
The renewed sponsorship will see Toyota providing logistical support, official vehicles, and exciting initiatives to enhance the race experience for participants and spectators alike. This includes the continuation of the popular Toyota Win-a-Car competition, which has become a highlight of the event, raising hundreds of thousands of rands for the official Amabeadibeadi Charity Drive.

Together, we are excited to make the 98th Comrades Marathon an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.”
The 98th Comrades Marathon takes place on Sunday, 8 June 2025. This is the 49th Down Run, starting at the Pietermaritzburg City Hall and finishing 12 hours later at Durban’s People’s Park.
